Arsenal vs Chelsea: Head-to-head
Overall, it’s Arsenal who lead the head to head tie by nine wins coming into 177th encounter with the Blues.
Five of last seven head to head outings ended without a winner.
Chelsea came on top when teams met in August at Stamford Bridge (3-2).
Both teams scored in four of past five head to head affairs.
Arsenal vs Chelsea: Prediction
Chelsea returned to winning ways after failing to find the back of the net in past two Premier League games at Stamford Bridge (0-1 loss to Leicester and 0-0 draw to Southampton).
Nevertheless, they still had to dig hard to secure a three-pointer against struggling Newcastle United seven days ago.
Sarri left Alvaro Morata out of the squad and Olivier Giroud on the bench playing Eden Hazard as a false striker. The Belgian was only a serious threat in the second half when his strong run led to Willian’s superb finish for the match-winner against the Magpies (2-1).
Arsenal, on the other side, failed to find the net only for the second time in the season last weekend when they fell 1-0 to West Ham in another London derby.
The Gunners thus won just one of past four league matches and they actually kept only one clean sheet in the entire season (it came in a narrow 1-0 win against the league’s weakest team Huddersfield Town).
