Arsenal are willing to offload Mesut Ozil in January, and his representative is set to fly to Italy this week to discuss a move to Inter Milan.
The playmaker has missed Arsenal’s last two matches with a back injury, and Unai Emery has been unimpressed with German’s attitude since replacing Arsene Wenger.
Arsene Wenger’s departure signalled new dawn at Emirates and Arsenal have been operating in a more careful, structural manner in the transfer market by identifying younger talent.
Unai Emery feels he can strengthen his options by getting Mesut Ozil off the wage bill and the Gunners are willing to consider £25 million bids in January, per the Sun.
The report adds that Mesut Ozil’s representatives, including his brother, will fly to Italy this week to discuss a deal with Inter Milan, who are unlikely to be able to meet the 30-year-old’s wage demands, but the German sees little sense in staying at Arsenal if he is not a starter.
Unai Emery would get any funds from former Germany international’s departure to spend in January, and he has keen on signing another forward following the injury sustained by Danny Welbeck.
