Arsenal are close in on surprise move for World Class Defender

Arsenal still want to sign Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis and ready to make an offer in January. Gunners need a high-class defender as Nacho Monreal is in terrible form and Sead Kolasinac injure. There are several options but Brazil international is the best one. Filipe wanted to join PSG in this summer but Los Rojiblancos rejected the offer from the Parisians.

Now the London club will make a better proposal and probably Luis will join Arsenal during the winter transfer window. Brazilian left-back joined the Spanish club from Deportivo in 2010 with a €12m deal. Over the years he was a key player in defence and played greatly many matches since joining. Last season he made 28 appearances, scored 1 goal and made 2 assists in all competition. Filipe won Europa League with Los Rojiblancos and also played in the Mundial where his national team reached the quarterfinals. Luis is contracted with La Liga giants until 2019 and his release clause is only €10m.

This won’t be a problem for the Gunners as they spent big money in this summer. The London club are also linked with Betis defender Junior Firpo but Unai Emery needs much more experienced left-back like Brazil international is. The 33-year-old also played in Premier League when he was in Chelsea and perfectly knows this competition.
