The new Arsenal manager Unai Emery and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan were pleased with the new summer signing Matteo Guendouzi for his hardwork and consistency as the young boy gets an impressive start to the season despite the team loosing it's first two matches to premier league holders Manchester City and London rivals Chelsea respectively but grabbed their first win against West Ham last Saturday.
The 19 year old boy was subbed off in the last game against the Hammers with another summer signing with a very good technique Lucas Torreira replacing him. He made a good impact in the game before he went off the pitch.
Emery said: ‘It is a very big, positive surprise with him,’ ‘He is improving. He is playing and working every day. He is hungry – he wants to improve, he wants to learn every day, every match.
‘He is doing it his way, with character and quality. We are very happy with him but every match is a chance to show this progress with consistency.’
Mkhitaryan claims he has never seen Matteo Guendouzi play but when he complete his move to Emirates and in the first training with the French youngster, He (Mkhitaryan) saw the potential that Guendouzi is a great player for the future.
The Armenian told RMC Sport: ‘To be honest, I had never seen this guy, I had heard about him but had never seen him play, so I was very impressed from the first training session.
‘I thought he has a lot of quality and he will bring good things to the club. If the coach took the decision to play him in the first match I agreed because he deserves it, we tried to help him.
‘He played very well the first two matches and we hope he will keep on giving positive performances.’
