Arsenal make move to sign German Star, Deal to be completed before transfer window closes

Robbie Lyle, who runs YouTube channel ArsenalFanTV, has urged Unai Emery to make a move and sign up Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng.

Rumours emerged earlier this week which claimed Emery was all set to hijack Manchester United’s move for the Germany International and take him to the Emirates for a fee of £45 million.

The Spaniard has already improved the back-line immensely this summer with the likes of Sokratis, Bernd Leno and Stephen Lichsteiner. But with Laurent Koscielny out for a long period of time and Callum Chambers set for a loan move to Fulham, Emery is now keen to do one late deal for a world class defender.

And with reports Bayern are keen to offload Boateng and his desire to make a return back to the Premier League, the Gunners are willing to match United and offer him one last big transfer move.

Lyle said on the Daily Star website: “He’s knocking on a bit now and didn’t have a great World Cup.

“Bayern are willing to let him go for about £45m, which is a lot, but if you think about what he’s done, it’s probably fair.

“I think we should be trying to bring in a player like him.”

Boateng is still regarded as one of the best defenders in world football and still has a good few years left in his legs, despite being 31-years old. But there is a reason why Bayern are willing to cash in now and let him leave.

His performances at the World Cup were no fluke as he looked dodgy all season for Bayern, costing the club a few goals, it was just lucky the Bundesliga is so easy to win as he would have cost them points too.

But would Gunners fans really want to see the German arrive?
