ALMOST DONE: Arsenal agree deal, Medical date fixed - Unai Emery to finalise another transfer

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is set to undergo medicals on a season-long loan deal to Premier League side Fulham.

Fulham are one of a number of Premier League clubs to make enquiries about Chambers’ availability, including the likes of Leicester City, Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal are open to the idea of loaning out Chambers, 23, as he has fallen down Unai Emery’s pecking order, and Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to bolster Fulham’s defensive options before the close of the transfer window on Thursday.

BBC, are confirming the Gunners are close to agreeing a deal which will see Chambers move to Fulham this week with the agreement of personal terms and a medical set to be completed.

Chambers recently agreed to sign a new contract at the Emirates stadium which signalled at the time that Unai Emery was willing to give him a chance in the upcoming season.

The centre-back will be given the opportunity to play regular first-team football in the Premier League with the Cottagers, although Unai Emery’s side are not currently interested in entertaining the idea of a permanent sale.

Fulham earned promotion to the Premier League in some style last season, while the additions of Mawson, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Jean-Michael Seri and Andre Schurrle are a statement of intent ahead of their top-flight campaign.

The Cottagers will kick off their season at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
