According to a report via Sportswitness claim Arsenal have had their first bid rejected for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez.
The newspaper claims the Gunners were ready to take the midfielder on loan with an option to sign for €25m,
Sport claims the Catalan giants are now ready to cashout having given Suarez the OK to Arsenal after Unai Emery convinced him to make a switch to the north London club.
It’s reported that if the 25-year-old leaves Camp Nou in the winter market, it will only be for Arsenal, which echoes claims from Monday.
Barcelona took Suarez with them for their trip to Getafe over the weekend, but they ended up withdrawing him from the squad for unspecified reasons.
It could just be that he was the 19th man, and wasn’t required on that occasion. However, rumours suggest Barcelona have to pay Manchester City €800,000 the next time Suarez makes an appearance for them, due to a clause in his contract.
As a result, Barcelona would presumably prefer to be sure whether Suarez is staying or not. If he’s going to leave in the next few weeks, then just one game isn’t worth €800,000. If he stays, then it’s worth paying the appearance bonus so he can play multiple games before the end of the season.
Suarez’s contract at Barca runs out in 2020 meaning it’s important for them to cash in from his sale soon.
