Key man returns ahead of Leicester City clash

Mesut Ozil has given a huge boost to Arsenal by returning to training after missing the Gunners’ 5-1 vicotry against Fulham on Sunday.

The German midfielder was ruled out of the win at Craven Cottage with a ‘back spasm’ and watched on from home as Unai Emery’s men won their ninth game in a row in all competitions.

The 29-year-old playmaker has ruled himself out of contention for his country and therefore has a free international break. Mesut Ozil was able to train alongside the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin on Tuesday and showed no signs of any back problems.

The north London club face Leicester City at Emirates Stadium after the international break, and Mesut Ozil has another ten days to prepare for the visit of the Foxes.

The experienced midfielder will have to battle Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi for a starting spot against Leicester City. The duo were two of Arsenal’s best players in the mauling of Fulham and Mesut Ozil could start the game on the bench.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey can leave the club on a free transfer next summer if Arsenal don’t take any measures.
