Unai Emery confirms Arsenal Star exit as the striker set to sign 3 year deal

Arsenal are on the brink of announcing a permanent deal for Joel Campbell to join Italian side Minnows Frosinone on a three-year contract, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Costa Rica forward has played just 23 league games for the Gunners since arriving in 2011 and could be on the move on a permanent basis this summer transfer window.

Frosinone are reportedly preparing to finalise the transfer ahead of Friday’s 8pm deadline.

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery previously revealed Campbell was free to quit the club.

“We only have three players: Carl Jenkinson, David Ospina and Joel Campbell, with the possibility to leave,” Emery said on Friday.

Arsenal signed Campbell from Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa in 2011 but he did not receive a work permit until two years later.

He spent time on loan at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiakos before impressing for Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup.

Former manager Arsene Wenger included Campbell in his first-team squad but managed just 10 appearances before being loaned to Villarreal for the second half of the 2014/15 season.
