Shocking: Arsenal star basically gives up on Gunners finishing in the top 4

Former Arsenal forward Robert Pires believes Arsenal’s best chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League is by winning the Europa League.

Following a year away from Europe’s top competition, Arsenal are desperate to get back into it but currently sits out of the top four.

The team is already into the quarter-finals of the Europa League but sits eight point behind fourth place Chelsea.

With 10 games left to play, Arsenal face a fight to get into the top four and when asked if winning the Europa League was Arsenal’s best chance of getting back into the UCL, Pires said:

“I don’t know but this is a very good opportunity for Arsenal to win a trophy. Manchester United set a good example last season.

“If you lift the trophy you go straight to the Champions League and everybody knows that for

Arsenal , this competition is very important.

“Arsenal are not doing so well in the Premier League but they have a good chance to win the Europa League.”

Arsenal have a tough quarter-final tie against AC Milan up next in the Europa League. The club would be hoping to keep it’s Europa League hopes alive by getting past the Italian giants. That said, Arsenal still have a chance to qualify via the league.

However, that would mean winning the remainder of our games. How feasible that is, I can’t say.
